988
Suicide and Crisis Lifeline
The new national three-digit suicide and crisis lifeline launched to help triage calls from people experiencing mental distress or a suicidal crisis. Similar to dialing 911, those in need can now dial 988 any time of day or night to be connected to one of eight coordinating call centers. Each dispatcher is a trained counselor who will listen, provide support, and connect the caller to additional resources as needed.
